I’m always down for a mom’s night out. So when I was invited to attend a promo event for Tully, starring Charlize Theron, I was all for it! I especially liked that the event was held at the Culver Hotel in Culver City. I love small boutique hotels and this one is full of speakeasy charm, so I immediately fell in love and plan on returning for another mom’s night out or a date night. The food and the drinks were really delicious and I’m excited to try their full-course meals at the restaurant. Following the drinks and appetizers, we walked just across the way to the movie theatre to watch an advanced screening of Tully. We also had a special surprise! Scroll down to see what the surprise was!

L.A Mamacitas Night Out

No, Yesica, from Yesi-Can is not the surprise. Although, I did enjoy having a familiar face to chat with! My amiga, Mary from Endlessly,Me was also there, so the night was extra funny.

Right, before the movie started, the surprise guest walked in! Charlize Theron, Mackenzie Davis and Ron Livingstone all came to say hello. It was so awesome to see them take the time to come and meet all the moms who were there to help promote the film.

So, what do I think about Tully? I really don’t want to give too much away because it’s the type of movie that has an aha! moment at the very end. Once you finish watching it, you start to replay scenes in your head and try to piece it back together. I will tell you this, it’s about a mom, just like many of us who are trying not to lose their s***.  You and any other good mom out there will be able to relate, empathize, and allow you to conversate about things you thought only you were going through.

The next day, I was also supposed to attend press day, where the cast of the movie would make an appearance to talk more about the movie. Unfortunately, I dropped the ball and totally forgot that it was picture day at Ji’s school! I have so much on my plate with work, L.A Mamacitas, this blog, motherhood, marriage, and as much as I wanted to head over to Beverly Hills and be part of press day for this amazing movie, I just couldn’t. Where’s my day nanny?! haha.

Tully opens in theatres on May 4th. See you at the movies!
