Rapunzel Inspired DYI Flower Crowns + Give Away

Ji’s hair is getting really long. I mean down to her waist long. I’ve been wondering if it’s time to do the first haircut thing but she doesn’t budge.  There’s no way she’s going to do it now after watching the new Rapunzel TV movie. We received an advanced copy of it to review and she has a new favorite princess, so of course, she wants to be just like her now. Long hair and all.
To help her become Rapunzel we sat down and made flower crowns. I’ve always bought them but after making them ourselves there is no way I will do it again. So many possibilities!
1. Pick your flowers. I bought 3 different types.

2. Separate artificial flowers from the stem.  I forgot to take a picture but you will need to first glue a piece of felt fabric on the headband and then glue the flowers onto that.
3. Let dry for a few minutes and tada! Instant princess!

Fiesta Time with Freshly Picked Moccasins

Hot Pink Freshly Picked
This post is sponsored by Freshly Picked; All opinions expressed are my own.

Last weekend, Dahlia attended her first party. It was a Fiesta theme, and the host requested that guests dress up in bright colors. Because it’s been so rainy and cold in L.A, I was excited for the chance to get out of the house and dress up the baby for everyone to meet her. She had just received a brand new pair of neon pink Freshly Picked mocassins, and I knew they would be perfect for the fiesta.

Roses and MoccsI paired the moccasins with an orange onesie “La Favorita De La Familia” (Our Family’s Favorite) and a huge statement rose hairpiece for laughs and baby cuteness.

Of course, there is no truth to her being the favorite but who doesn’t love a funny quote!

I had so much fun dressing up and taking pictures of my little senorita in her bright outfit. She was definitely the hit of the fiesta!

A Sunday Morning in Atwater Village

On Sunday we set out to spend the day at the Autry Museum, because on the first full weekend of every month museums offer free admissions to Bank of America cardholders  and because Ji was wearing her cute Minnetonka boots that seemed fitting for a day of American West history.  But first, we drove North on Los Feliz boulevard to find a place to eat. While at a red light I quickly spotted a wall full of hearts. I made mental note to have the hubby stop there after breakfast but he quickly read my mind and mentioned that we needed to stop there for some cool pictures for the blog. He’s a fast learner!

We decided on Mimi’s Café. I love Mimi’s because they serve delicious comfort food plus they have an all day breakfast menu. We were told the wait would be about 15-20 minutes so we headed outside to enjoy the sun and their charming home-like exterior. Our wait ended up being less than  5 minutes! My type of place 😉

Ji had puppy griddlecakes with a side of fresh fruit.

The hubby and I had a hearty  breakfast and delicious mango mimosa.

Next stop….

Ji really loved this wall! She was having a blast pointing out all the colors and sizes while the hubby and I took pictures of/with her.

I especially loved this mural because the night before someone had asked me what it felt like to be a mother. My response was that it felt like an overwhelming feeling of love that took over my body and soul. These hearts with my baby standing there taking it all in was a perfect visual for my feelings♥♥♥

Daddy was loving all the attention too…

As I went through my camera roll to pick pictures for this post I realized that this definitely  is not our first breakfast/mural  Sunday morning trip. I can’t wait to share more of them with you!

What are your Sunday morning rituals?  I would love to hear about how other families spend their Sundays!
