Quiet time for parents with the JOHNSON’S® Tonight We Sleep™, 7-day Challenge

Ji is a great sleeper. Mom’s all around the world are going to hate me when I say that she’s been sleeping between nine to twelve hours straight since she’s was seven weeks old. How did this magic happen? We followed the  JOHNSON’S® 3-Step BEDTIME® Routine.

Step 1: A warm Bath- A bedtime routine, including a warm bath, helps baby know it’s time to sleep. JOHNSON’S® BEDTIME® products contain a special blend of gentle and calming aromas designed to help soothe baby before bed.

Step 2:A Soothing Massage: A massage, as part of a bedtime routine, can help baby sleep better. Familiar and pleasant scents can make baby feel happy and relaxed and lead to better well-being by enhancing baby’s mood and emotions.

Step 3:Quiet Time: The moments before bedtime are an opportunity to help baby wind down through quiet time activities such as reading, singing or listening to music.

Amazing, right?

Then one day when she was about one and half,  she started sleeping in our bed,  which then turned into her going to sleep at 11 PM or even midnight. I work from home, and she gets to stay home with me,  so she sleeps in and even takes a two-hour nap mid-day. Sounds lovely right? There’s one small problem. Mommy and daddy get no alone time. We don’t get to indulge in our favorite shows while drinking an occasional glass of wine. There is no adult time. So when I was the presented with the opportunity to take the JOHNSON’S® Tonight We Sleep™, 7-day Challenge, I jumped at the chance to make some changes around here.

We started the challenge by downloading the free JOHNSON’S® BEDTIME® Baby Sleep App. It asked questions regarding our routine and her sleeping habits. This app does not mess around! It flat out told me that my child goes to sleep way too late for someone her age, that she needs to go to sleep in her own bed and that our bedtime routine is too long. It also gave personalized recommendations on how to make those changes.

That same night, I got to work! We started with a warm bath, then moved on to a massage and ended with quiet time with her favorite books while we played Tonight We Sleep™ Lullabies in the background. I have to admit that she was a bit resistant to fall asleep once I put the books away.  However, she fell asleep within 10 minutes! I couldn’t believe that it happened so quickly and on the first night!

About Tonight We Sleep™ Lullaby

Like all JOHNSON’S® products, the Lullabies have been formulated and designed with baby in mind. They partnered with a team of music experts to research the science behind the noises and notes that comfort little ones and surveyed moms around the world about sounds that help their babies sleep. These insights were thoughtfully layered to compose our global Lullabies, because baby’s sleep not only benefits baby – it also sets the tone for the family the next day.

For the next six nights, I started the routine 15 minutes earlier than each night before. Result? Success! She now goes to bed two hours earlier than usual, and mommy and daddy get to spend quality time together.

No two babies sleep alike, so I definitely encourage to download the free app so that you get personalized recommendations for your family’s needs.

How’s your babes sleeping routine? Do you think you can make use of this awesome app? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Nighty night,
